UDF back in Kerala; NDA retained power in Assam and Puducherry

The Congress-led UDF on 4th May pulled off a striking comeback in Kerala with the front bagging 99 out of 140 Assembly seats. The CPI(M)-led LDF was brought down from 94 to a mere 35 seats. The BJP also registered its best-ever performance in the state with victory in three seats.

In Assam, the BJP crossed the majority mark of 64, with the NDA bagging 102 seats, far ahead of the Congress-led INDIA bloc which managed to secure only 21 seats. In Puducherry, the NDA retained power with victory in 18 seats as All India NR Congress leading the alliance’s tally. Congress and others take away 6 seats each.
